Every ticket leaves when it should.

A printer tells you an order exists. At half seven on a Saturday, the table waiting fifty minutes is the one nobody noticed.

Paper order dockets crowding the ticket rail above a busy pass

The docket that fell behind the pass

Paper curls, gets wet and slides down the back of the counter. None of it is recorded, so when a table complains the kitchen says it went out, the floor says it never arrived, and it ends with a comped dessert.

Three tablets and a printer

Delivery apps, kiosk, QR, online collection and the counter each land somewhere different, and the kitchen quietly decides which screen it trusts. On a kitchen display they all arrive in one queue, on one screen.

Nine in ten tickets off paper

The Dartford Sports Bar, kitchen orders

About 90% through the system

April runs The Dartford Sports Bar, an Admiral Taverns pub. Nine in ten kitchen orders now arrive through the system instead of on a paper ticket. She says so on camera, by name, at her own venue.

Timing is the whole job

A printer hands you tickets in arrival order. A screen holds courses and fires them together, counts how long every ticket has been open and pushes the oldest to the front. Ticket times are recorded by service, by day and by site.

Questions operators ask

What does a kitchen display do that a printer does not?

It times the order. Tickets are ordered by when they need to leave, courses are held and fired together, and nothing is lost because a docket fell behind the pass.

Can I see how long tickets are actually taking?

Yes. Ticket times are recorded per order and reported back by service, by day and by site, so a slow Friday is a number you can look at, and the kitchen and the floor stop arguing about it.

Does it handle delivery and kiosk orders too?

Yes. Orders from the till, handhelds, QR, kiosk and connected delivery apps all land in one queue, so the kitchen works from one screen instead of three tablets.

Can I run more than one screen?

Yes, and they can be split by section so the grill sees grill items and the cold section sees its own. Each screen is charged as its own module.

What does the kitchen display cost?

A 27 inch kitchen display screen is £27 a month with the hardware included and nothing upfront. Prices exclude VAT and every module is listed on the pricing page.

Does it run from the same system as the till?

Yes. The kitchen display is a module of SkyTab POS, so there is one menu, one set of prices, one reporting view and one place to go when something stops working mid service.
